Everything's Coming up Nesbo
Martin Scorsese is officially onboard to direct The Snowman! The film adaptation will be scripted by Matthew Michael Carnahan, the scribe partly (or fully) responsible for political dramas/thrillers such as The Kingdom, Lions for Lambs, and State of Play; he also co-wrote the upcoming World War Z adaptation.
Headhunters, a Norwegian adaptation of another Nesbo novel, has become one of the most successful films of all time for the territory. Mortem Tyldum’s $5 million thriller, starring Aksel Hennie, has already earned close to $12 million from the Scandinavian box office alone.
Greetings from Thailand
“Like Thai cuisine, Burdett’s comic thriller blends spicy, sour, salty and sweet—and makes for a delicious wake-up for jaded palates.” —People
January marks the publication of the fifth Bangkok novel by British expat John Burdett, called Vulture Peak. The books offer larger-than-life characters, bizarre crimes and the exotic atmosphere of Thailand.
To kick off the new year, we bring you a greeting from the series' philosophical Thai Buddhist detective, Sonchai Jitpleecheep.
